Daniel Davis to Play Georges in La Cage

Daniel Davis will appear as Georges opposite Gary Beach's Albin in the upcoming Broadway revival of La Cage aux Folles, according Broadway.com.

Davis is terrific in everything. A good casting choice.

Yes, he's a good actor - terrific in Frogs - but what happened to their star search? Guess there were no takers.

Oh that made my day. Anything Niles does is fantastic!

He IS a star. He was a regular on a very successful series for many years. Pay attention, people!

Suddenly, I had a mental image of Daniel Davis as Norma Desmond....

re: Daniel Davis to Play Georges in La Cage

Rathnait, whatever Daniel Davis is - a very talented actor - he is NOT a star. The producers were shopping for a big name and apparently didn't find one - that's the bottom line. I'm sure Davis will be superb in the part.

re: Daniel Davis to Play Georges in La Cage

He's more of a star than most people on Broadway right now. He's a TV star for heaven's sake.

I think this is great casting, although the marketing is going to be for the production and show -- perhaps they can bring in some folks with Daniel, but I'll be interested to see how they promote the show...

If it was the Weisslers you KNOW they would. They may anyway - that's what he's known for, and business is business.

Daniel Davis..a "star"?..Hmmmmm.

I am glad they didn't go the Luke Perry route. But if this puppy runs for more than a year, I'm sure we'll see some interesting replacements.

Personally, I'm glad they didn't go the stunt casting route on this one - Let Daniel and Gary carry the show and for once 'let those who know how...DO IT'
