Does anyone know if Daniel Radcliffe's reading of How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying is going to become a full revival of the show?
Also, does anyone know if he read Finch with his normal English voice, or did he mask his accent for the character?
I played Finch in a high school production of the show and would love to come out to New York again to see DR play him.
Edit: Not that it would matter what accent he uses, I'm purely curious.
I was wondering this as well. About the show moving forward I mean.
As for the accent, sorry to nitpick, but it's all relative isn't it?
Right, well I think it's dreadfully obvious what I'm asking, whether there is an English audience on these boards or not, based on the way that I wrote that sentence. It's probably safe to assume that a show on Broadway would feature actors with American accents, and I was just curious if his Finch character is English or American. Again, not that it matters but I'm only curious.
Was that not obviously what I was asking? Sorry to be confusing.
Radcliffe is currently committed to a number of projects, including an upcoming reading of a new musical; if H2$ is happening, it's not coming immediately.
Anyone have any info about this?

How To Succeed: It seems that this is a pretty distinctly American Musical, considering that it is about moving up the business ladder in a pretty American way. The English class structure, still pretty much in place in the 50's when the show is set, makes me think that Radcliffe should do the show as an American.
As for the "new musical reading" - Anyone have additional details?

If he really can sing and dance, I'd like to see him in a revival of "Where's Charley?"
It would be nice to see the role of an English college student played by someone vaguely the right age. Ray Bolger was pushing 40 when he did it.
As for the "new musical reading" - Anyone have additional details?
Rumor has it that it involves a re-tooling of a musical about a certain breed of neck nibblers by the author of a popular over-dramatic Eighties love song.

If this becomes a revival, this will take a very long time. He finishes Harry Potter filming in July with the first part of the seventh movie being released in November, the second part the following July. It will have to be over a year and a half until this starts.
Why couldn't he start after filming for the 7th movie is complete? Like this fall? I don't understand why he has to wait till the second part of the film is OUT before he can commit to other work.
They do an awful lot of international press for all of the movie releases. I'm sure he could do a show after filming is done, but it's probably that much easier for him to wait until the films are both released and he's done with press.
Press runs only last about 2 weeks after the release of the film. I think waiting till after the first part is released makes sense. However, by the time the second part comes out he can either leave the show or take a 2-week hiatus and let the understudy do his thing. Right?
And I agree with the above comments about how it would make more sense for him to play an American because of what the show is based on.

'Fraid not. He's the favorite for the Max von Essen role, and Steinman is psyched to have him involved.
