I saw De La Guarda at the Daryl Roth Theatre at Union Square about a year ago. I loved the show. I loved the theatre. Has anyone been in there since it closed? Now that Manuscript is there, have they added seats to it? It's kind of an akward space to have a stage since it's basically one, sqaure room. If they put a stage in there, it would take up so much room, and I can only imagine how many seats there would be.

The seats the have in it now aren't typical theatre seats. They're just chairs lined up in rows on risers. There are some on either side of the stage as well as in front. The stage they put in is rather small.

It's a very interesting space.

cool! thanks. did they make it look more like a real theatre though? Like..when I looked up during De La Guarda, all I saw were cement walls and a cement ceiling. Did they fix it up?

There are black curtains hung up all over the place, so you can't see any cement walls.

The way the actors get backstage is really interesting. There is a set wall built up a few feet from the real wall, and it makes a hallway. When the set ends, there is still a raised platform across the wall that runs into a hole cut in the curtains.
