David Carroll sings Roses at the Station

It's amazing how steady he worked in the 1980s, but wouldn't enjoy his last and great success with Grand Hotel or preserve the cast recording. Truly one of the most beautiful voices I have heard. It truly rings and has such a warm quality. I actually became acquainted with someone who knew him as a child and it was fun hearing some stories about Carroll's bratty childhood behavior.
With Irma you gotta do something!

I only saw him in Chess and Grand Hotel and I'll never forget him. Thank God his Raise a Glass was preserved for those who taped the Macys Parade and at least his version of the song was kept on the CD as a bonus! So sorry I missed the turkey Oh, Brother!

Oh Brother has some great music and is often cited as a show that might well have succeeded, as it was cited in Not Since Carrie. "I To The World" is a gorgeous song. I know a few people who worked on the show; many believed the eve of the First Gulf War was simply not good timing for an old-fashioned musical set in an oil rich Muslim kingdom.
