David Mamet Rehearsals

Does anyone have any insight on what rehearsal periods are like for plays that David Mamet directed? I've been reading his book of essays on theatre, and the he talks about it, it seems like he'd rehearse, block, and have the show up and running in a week.

Well, not about shows he directed, but from a friend who was in the original  production of November, I was amused that Mr. Mamet always sat off in a corner at an old fashioned typewriter, constantly typing during early rehearsals.
