I wish Michael Lee Brown would get a chance to do at least one show, but I doubt he will.
MLB covers Jared & Connor more.

He'd only go on if/when Colton cant i'd imagine. Im pretty sure the way it works with them is that Michael covers Conner and Jared first with Colton taking Evan first and then Michael for evan only if Colton is out, and Colton on for jared/connor only if Michael is out, or on for another role. Know what I mean?

Does anyone know when Laura Dreyfuss will be returning to the show? She posted on Instagram this morning that she is in Peru on vacation. Also, do any of you know if any other cast members will be missing any shows from August 8-11th? I am planning on seeing the show one of these days and want to see as many of the original cast members as I can.

Apparently Ben will be out later in the week- just saw this on telecharge.
"Ben Platt will be out of Dear Evan Hansen performances August 10 – 16, returning on Thursday, August 17. During that time, Michael Lee Brown OR Colton Ryan will both play the role of Evan Hansen."

That has been talked about for weeks on every DEH thread and put up on Telecharge 3 weeks ago.

Geez -harsh! This seems like an appropriate place to put news of his vacations!
Apparently nobody is allowed to post anything about Ben Platt or DEH without getting Margo's approval...

Haha. Yes, totally. Can you be any more dramatic? I'm sure you can. There are at least 3 different threads that have talked about this subject for weeks. It's just ridiculous someone would discover something and not check to see if it's been talked about on other threads. And yes, that's my OPINION.

Does anyone know if Ben has any dates in September/October that he's going to be out? Specifically between September 29 and October 2?
Thanks!
For anyone interested, it was Michael Lee Brown who went on.

He's also out of tonight's show. Weird that they would start his vacation a day early after offering refunds for all the other dates of his vacation.

I am sure it hasn't been announced, but is there any way to find out when Ben Platt's last performance is in Nov? Coming to NYC that month and don't want to miss him.... assuming I can land a ticket!

I think we just discovered why he is out today through the 16th! How exciting!

Ugh I have tickets for tonight, but It says he is out aug 10-aug 16 on the Dear Evan Hansen website, and I know he was filming will and grace last night in LA...so it's not looking so good for tonight.
does anyone have any further info on the matter?

He's scheduled to be back tonight. I'm assuming he took a red-eye flight, and is already back in town.

The 17th is after the 16th.
This happened at least twice with "If/Then," an ailing Menzel doing act one and then Burns taking over. I was at the now semi-legendary "Sunset..." Saturday matinee when Buckley did act one (rather brilliantly, at least vocally; the voice was there) and then Karen Mason did act two.
It happens, doesn't it? I'm moved that they try to push through, and then finally cannot and cede the role once begun.
People who were there say Ben did great in act 1 but struggled a bit with high notes and seemed somewhat visibly ill. He was seen leaving the Music Box during intermission. Before act 2 there was an announcement "due to illness . . . ." Michael Lee Brown received hearty applause at the first applause moment and was apparently the darling of the stage door today.
I even commented to friends how good he sounded at the Saturday night show...

I think he should take like a month off. The role seems to be harming more than helping him. Poor guy. Maybe he can do a schedule like Javier does for Hamilton?

Looks like Ben is on a week of doctor recommended vocal rest! Hope he gets better soon.
Yikes, poor guy. Per Telecharge:
"Ben Platt will be out of Dear Evan Hansen the week of August 22 - 27 on doctor-imposed vocal rest. Michael Lee Brown and Colton Ryan will play the role of Evan Hansen in his absence."
