Whitingpc, how did the line go for you?

It went really well! I got here around 9:30am and was 8th in line. At 4:30 they released 2 tickets and at 5:30 they released 2 tickets (so now I'm 4th in line). At 6:50 (befor the 7:00 showtime), they had another 6 tickets available (orchestra for $199), so I was able to get in and see the show in an amazing seat!

It was definitely worth the 9 hour wait. If you're close to the front, make sure to stay till showtime, because security said they typically will have a few more tickets they can release!

"

Any idea what time the people before you got into line at?

Oh my gosh hi it's like 1am in the morning im so tired. to get to the point--ive been STALKING this messaging board, finding out tips on how to get good tickets that dont empty our wallet. i understand that for standing in cancellation line, it would be best to arrive earlier, so around 10am? i also know that telecharge and stubhub are our best friends. do the prices really drop on stubhub 10-15 minutes before performances? because if so, that may be my best bet for getting tickets, besides telecharge. how do i figure out when good deals for tickets will be dropping on telecharge? is there a schedule? thank you so so much!

Honestly, there isn't really a "schedule," other than the four-ish-day rule that I'm sure you've read about on this thread.  If you have a date in mind that you want to see the show, just keep an eye on Telecharge about 4-5 days before that day, and hope for the best! If the date you want is kind of distant, maybe just check Telecharge every few days just in case.  I got tickets for October, and I had been checking Telecharge about once a day.  Also check this thread once a day too!  The people here are awesome, and if someone sees tickets up for a good price, they'll usually post about it here!

Did you have to print out tickets and stuff? Can you tell me the whole process you went through? I read somewhere here that it may be required to print out the tickets, and if it is, where can i print them out thats super close to the music box theatre?

most ticket to deh on stubhub are either pickup or instant download. if you buy pickup tickets (like i did), you can just go to the stubhub lms center which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the theatre and you can pick up your tickets right there. process is very quick and if you really hurried you could buy the ticket 10 minutes before the show and still make it to the theatre on time.

if you buy instant download, i think you can also print them at the stubhub lms center (not 100% sure) but it might take a little longer to get everything printed so i would make sure you have at least 20-30 minutes before the show if you want to buy instant download.

I believe you can print at the Marriot Marquis business center, which is right next to the theatre!

The Marriot Marquis is super close to the theatre... This seems like the best option if I want to get tickets that are closer to the show time, and cheaper... Would I just walk into the center and ask to have my tickets printed out..? And does this work for both instant download and pick up?

I did pick up tickets (usually pick up tickets drop faster in price than instant download) & then went to the LMS Center which was on 39th & Broadway. I was in and out in under a minute & had about 10 mins to get back to the theater. I walked pretty hastily and got there right at 7, but had a few minutes to spare bc thr show doesn't start until like 7:07 anyways.

If you were to buy instant download tickets I would definitely recommend printing them at the Marriott Marquis which is literally next door to the theater. There is a FedEx business center on the 8th floor where you can print things (costs maybe $2) - but I will say that I remember during the height of Hamilton last year people did this and sometimes it took a few minutes for the purchase to process before the tickets appeared on their account so just beware of that. Not sure if that has been fixed in the last year or not - can anyone else attest to this method?

Okay, cool, thank you so much! This clears up a lot for me. If I do end up buying instant download, i'll just have to be speedy. Again, thank you guys so much! This thread is super helpful!

Anyone currently in the cancellation line/have an update on the status of the line?  I was thinking about swinging by after work around 4:30 just to see what it's like around this time.  I miss the days when I could swing by after work at 6 or 6:30 and be first in line!  Glad this show is so popular now but man I wish it was easier to see.

Won the digital lottery yesterday and sent my daughters in to see the show. When they got there at around 5:45 there were over 20 people waiting in the cancellation line. The lady directly in front of them paid over $500 for her seat. The lottery tickets were SRO with a perfect view. They didn't mind standing and loved the show! Everyone was there except Zoe but they said her understudy was amazing! Good luck.

So I did end up going over, and I was able to see the show last night!

I got in line at about 4:30pm, and I was 11th in line.  At around 5pm a man from the theater came out and offered the line 4 tickets, I didn't hear where the first pair was but the second two were 2 partial view front row seats, one on the far right side and one on the far left.  A line sitter from Same Ole Line Dudes who was first in line took the first pair, but a lot of people in the front of the line turned down the 2 front row seats, I guess because of partial view?  He actually made it all the way down to me with the second ticket but right before he got to me someone asked about standing room and he said "we have standing room" and I hesitated, thinking he'd offer standing room after he gave out this ticket, but alas, he did not and the girl directly behind me in line claimed the second front row partial view.  (I suffered a lot of regret through the rest of the line for not claiming it!)

After that they didn't give out any tickets until 5 minutes before the show, but people started to peel off the closer we got to showtime.  One lady bought tickets for herself and her daughter on stubhub, another girl was only waiting in the line for a ticket for her friend, and already had tickets for that night's show, and as it began to near showtime, two different people sold their extra tickets to people in the line in front of me.  The first couple just wanted face value, the second guy had payed 464 for his ticket and wanted to get that back, but no one would pay that much, so he lowered it to 200 and the girl in front of me took it.

By 6:40 I was now 5th in line, right behind the family of 4 that had been at the front of the line when I got there, just behind the line sitter guy.  At 5 minutes till 7 they came out with two tickets, which the two daughters of this family claimed.  Then at probably 3 minutes to 7 they came out with a single ticket, and the parents turned it down so I was able to go in!  I paid 199, got Row F Seat 7, and had an amazing view.

Moral of the story is, if you can't wait in line so early in the morning, but you can come around 4 or 4:30, definitely try it (though I wouldn't come after 5, the line grew pretty quickly after people got off work).  Things happen and people almost always leave the line or people with extra tickets will sell them to you on their way in.  In fact, in a previous time that I've done this, a man came out of the box office after picking up tickets and came straight to me, saying "you need 2 tickets to see the show?"  I only needed 1, and I'd seen it before and was like 8th in line, and people at the front started yelling that they'd been waiting longer, so I was like "yeah they've been waiting, if you wanna talk to them", and he said "well I came to you but oookkkkk" and then he straight up just gave 2 orchestra tickets to the people in the front of the line for free!  I kicked myself over that encounter for weeks.

Oh and obviously the show was amazing and Olivia Puckett is FANTASTIC as Zoe.  It may have been just because I've never seen the show without Laura Dreyfuss, and only once without Ben, but Olivia had a really fresh take on the role, and was more quietly angry than Laura usually plays it, and it felt like the dynamic between Evan and Zoe was new and different and really interesting.  (Obviously I love Laura Dreyfuss and she's amazing in every way and I love her as Zoe as well)

Appears Ben has started his vacation today as opposed to tomorrow. Just pulled up a ticket on Telecharge that has noted that Ben will not appear in tonight's performance & saw a tweet that there is an understudy in for the matinee.

I'll be in NYC on the first week of October so i've been following this wonderful thread and today i saw two tickets for October 5. Unfourtunately the Telecharge website is so slow that I lost haha. Or maybe it was a bug, cuz' it was a normal third row ticket for $149.

I will have to keep looking. Hope to see the show.....
