I think its pretty stupid of you not to make Memphis available for Download on Itunes or SOME digital music site. You probably would make so much more money if it WAS avail for digital download. This is the digital era!!

Who wants to pay shipping charges and wait a week to get the cd in the mail. Oh and not everyone lives in NYC and can pop over to the theater and pick it up.

For a show that is doing so so at the box office i would think you want to get the CD out there ASAP to help build word of mouth. Only offering them at the Theater and on 1 website is not gonna help your show catch fire like it should.

I'm sure they will eventually.

Besides, even if they dont, I don't think they'll be reading your post.

You know cast recordings -- especially new cast recordings -- are available at most CD stores across the country, right? I assume you have one of those nearby.

My friend saw it this past weekend and said it was amazing. Too bad I live in the West Coast, I would love to get a copy too.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Sony has picked up the CD for general release, I believe coming out late January and they will presumably have it available for downloads.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
