Saw the original & also enjoyed it. Hard source material to make it palatable to the general public

Roundabout did a private workshop/reading in the mid 1990's with Chita, and Audra McDonald as the ingenue. They were considering a full production, but based on the general response to the reading, decided against it.

Did they do something from it on the Tony's? If so surely that would be something worth dragging out for Lost Treasures IV ?

I know Jerry Herman himself doesn't like Dear World's title song, but I think its a terrific number. The entire score is fantastic!
