In looking thru my Dear World playbill, I notice 3 songs listed but not on the CD. I do not know if they were cut before opening (57 previews) or if they never made it to the LP due to time restrictions.
They are:
A Sensible Woman - Angela Lansbury
I Like Me
Have A Little Pity On The Rich
Anyone know what happened to them ?
They were cut at some point during previews, as they never made it to opening night.

They sound wonderful, I wish I could hear them.
"Have A Little Pity On The Rich" sounds like it would have a delightful lyric.
Thanks
The score is not bad. It is not great but a nice listen nonetheless
The lovely intro to "I Don't Want to Know" is also cut. You can hear/see it on the Jerry Herman Hollywood Bowl concert.

The version licensed by Tams-Witmark had two other songs not on the cast recording: "The Bottom of the Glass", which was Aurelia's opening song, and "A Little Bit More", sung by the villains.

IBDB lists neither of those songs, so they must be a part of the revisions the authors did following the closing.
IBDB lists songs that were in the show on opening night.
Regardless, the songs Roxy listed were cut during previews, not added after.
It has one of the most remarkable Herman songs ever written, "I Don't Want to Know" and a few other great numbers. The one number that always seems to confuse me though, is the title song. It's a very catchy, nice song and I do like it, but it seems completely wrong for the show. It would be fine in any other show about a "Dear World" but this one!
