Please don't tell me you've never heard of her! She is one of my favorite singers ever! I actually have the pleasure of performing with her on stage for this Holiday Spectacular thing a local theatre is doing, she's more amazing in person than on CD!! Sorry, just wanted to post my love for this talented Broadway performer.

Her Alan Menken album is *wonderful* (a couple of the arrangements are overly mushy--but she saves them) I also *love* her version of Sondheim's Water Under the Bridge

I love Debbie.
She did a great rendition of 'Nevertheless' which Mario uses as his Act 2 opener in Laugh Whore

She was wonderful in Jerome Robbins Broadway.
I have sung with here on numerous occassions...a true talent and gem of a person...

Agreed, KMF!
And she was a fabulous Mama Morton too!

In a 1980s Frank Loesser revue on Broadway, she performed his little-known "Junk Man" and was absolutely electrifying.
I think she also performed it on a PBS special at the time, which I wish they would release on DVD.
She performed free concerts in Chicago the last two summers. I think she is stellar and I would love to see her either as Mama Rose or Mrs. White in Carrie.
She stole the show in a summer tour of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES (with Morgan Fairchild). Her Dorothy Shaw was a knockout. She stopped the show cold with "I Love What I'm Doing". GREAT talent!
Add me to the "lovin' Debbie" list. I first met her 2 summers ago with Stephen Schwartz. She was one of the first to sing a new song "Defying Gravity" from his new show "Wicked" ....as beautifully as anyone I've heard.
She will be among the talent in May 2005 at Peter Nero & The Philly Pops "Broadway Show Stoppers" with the equally talented Rebecca Luker, Ron Raines and Brent Barrett.
Lord willing, I'll be a covering. :)
