I was just watching old MadTV reruns, and they did a parody of the Rosie O'Donnell show, featuring an appearance by an actress playing Nala in "The Lion King." I think the comediannes name is Debra Wilson, she's a regular on the show, and she performed a musical number from the show. Although it was a spoof and not even an actual song from the real show, she had a very nice voice and I was wondering if she had any musical theatre background? Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks!

I don't know about the musical theatre background, but I think she is a very talented, commedianne. I saw her on last Thursday night's Without a Trace in a straight performance. Nothing funny about it, but it was fun seeing her in a new light.

She often does a good Whitney imitation on MADTV, and a kickass Grace Jones.
