Defying Gravity Tech Scene

Ok,

I hate to start a thread about this but I feel I must clear the air - no pun intended -

In Defying Gravity Elphaba does not stand on a platform. The machine is almost like a crane that wraps around ehr waste.

First: You can see the hump it causes if you sit in the partial view seats - House left.

Second: In an interview Idina said she wants kids but can't yet because of the contraption thats wraps around her waste.

Sorry for bringing it up!

yes... somehting wraps around her waist, but she also stands on a platform, we saw it when we got to go on the stage.

yea- i suppose it would be sort of hard to belt when you are completely hanging and having a limp feeling. That would not be fun.

yea, theres no way that she is supported only by something around her waste. she would be leaning and moving all over the place. besides, you can see the platform that she stands on in some pictures.

Plus saftey- we dont want any dead broadway stars laying around...tough to clean up after.

Doesn't anyone remember the "Why isn't she ON the broom?" debate?

She has to be standing on something because if they were going to put her in some sort of harness - aside from the fact that she be falling all over the place and be REALLY uncomfortable - she'd never be able to belt.

And if she could, they probably wouldn't have her waving the broom around when they could just have her riding it.

...not like that.

it was originally january 2nd, but about 2 weeks after than announcement it was changed to january 9th. (which messed up many people's last show plans) i'm 99% sure it is still january 9th, unless they just changed it like an hour ago, haha
