This is the best news I have heard all morning. According to Alan Ball, Dennis O'Hare will be on season 3 of True Blood as the vampire king of Mississippi.
"Denis OHare has just been cast as a regular for season 3. His character Russell Edgington, the vampire king of Mississippi, is gay in the books, so is this something we can expect to see in season 3?
I think the kings and queens of the various states are aware of each other, and yes, he definitely knows who she is. Whether or not they end up in a scene together I can't really say; it depends on actors' availability and scheduling and those kinds of things. But they definitely are aware of each other."

I've never seen him live on stage--I'm sure he is great--but he is one of those actors who can seamlessly make the transition to TV/film and still do great work and get great characters to play. I loved his role on BROTHERS & SISTERS, and he made for an incredibly scary villain in MILK. TRUE BLOOD is my favorite show on TV right now so the idea of him in the show makes me way more excited than I should be. It's such a good fit though!

I LOVED him in CHARLIE WILSON'S WAR and also w/ Christina in SWEET CHARITY (his version of the title song (movie version) is my fav).
TRUE BLOOD is my favorite show so this is a wonderful combination.
It's pretty old news though, Ball spoke about it before Season 2 even aired.
Evan Rachel Wood vs. O'Hare sounds like lots of fun!
