I hope that other shows follow suit. "Now In Performances" was and is quite misleading to anyone not in the diehard theater community who probably knows otherwise. If they are going to defend their preview status in the press, they need to advertise that the show is merely in previews.

It's about time, though I don't think it'll stop people from purchasing tickets to see a preview performance.

I think this is fair. Now, I attended the 2nd preview and was actually thrilled to be able to see so intimately a show's "rehearsal" process. After hearing that the 1st preview had 5 stops, I ran out and bought my ticket immediately, hoping to see many stops so I could really see the creation process. (Much to my dismay, there was only 1 technical hold!) Let's be real, typically shows are better prepared for the public and we don't get to see their development, so this is an AWESOME opportunity for a theatre enthusiast to feel like they're part of the community! And I'll get to go back later and make comparisons about how the show has grown. This is really an interesting opportunity to take a look at the development of theatre.

That being said, if I were scrimping and saving to give my kids a magical night and then the show stopped, I might be a bit upset. I might as well go and rip the masks off the Sponge Bobs in Times Square and break the news about Santa and the Tooth Fairy after the show as well if the magic of the show died due to a stop in a preview performance. (Okay, that's a bit dramatic) But yeah, I think this it is fair and good to let people know that performances are still being worked out. Lots of families may be in this for the magic of it, not because they are connoisseurs of fine theatre...
