Did Legally Blonde have to do an Equtiy casting call before moving onto the reality show?

I remember reading about how they pretty much said flat out that they are having a revival of Grease so that they can cast the show via reality show. However, because equity wanted it they had an open Equity call just to make them happy.

Did Legally Blonde have to do the same thing? Did they have an open Equity call for the sake of Equity regardless of the fact that they were going to cast the role of Ell via a reality show?

They did have open calls as well as agent calls for the reality tv show. The tv show was AFTRA though, so Equity had nothing to do with it. You can hire people for a production contract however you want to hire them, but that doesn't change the fact that you still have to have your six month required call for the show whether you need people or not.

Yes, friends and neighbors, this total f**king HORROR is finally over. Shame on all of you for watching this corporate tripe.

ALL of you!
