Posted: 7/3/04 at 3:48pmHere's my two cents on the subject. "The Producers" deserved all of the principle awards that it recieved. It probably did NOT deserve the technical awards that it recieved (though the "Sprigtime For Hitler" WAS pretty spectacular). I saw the show with Stadlen and Stephenson, twice, and both times they executed their roles perfectly. I can only imagine what Broderick and Lane did for the production. The score, IMO, was the best of that year's contenders, and the book is hands-down the funniest one I've ever read or seen presented on the stage.
"Goodness is rewarded. Hope is guaranteed. Laughter builds strong bones. Right will intercede. Things you've said I often find I need, indeed. I see the world through your eyes. What's black and white is colorized. The knowledge you most dearly prized I'm eager to employ. You said that life has infinite joys."
