Did anyone else know about this..??

While google-ing, I came across the Producers in Australia website, complete with cast listing and their photos.

I didn't realize the production was finalized yet!:S I guess I must be out of the loop on this one..

Did anyone else hear things about this production as of late?

It was anounced about 2-3 months back, with all the casting, dates, etc. Its opening in Melbourne in April. The producers [of the show] are aiming for a year-long run before touring. Tickets for Melbourne have been on sale for a month or so.

Regarding the cast, I was so bummed when I heard Bert Newton would be playing Franz. He'd have been perfect for Edna Turnblad when Hairspray opens here, IMO. But I guess that won't be happening! *sigh*
