If they made a movie of DRS, what celebrity do you guys think would be versitile enough to play Norbert Leo Butz's part, assuming that he isn't a big enough celebrity for the movie. Any other Brad Oscar fans that think he should have been Franz in the Producers movie???

you do mean a musical version of DRS right? cause the musical is based on a movie with the same name, but with just no music, starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin.

No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree.

I would not see the movie if the original broadway cast had no part of it!

Norbert Leo Butz quotes about John Lithgow: "He's really clumsy. One of the joys in life is to watch a great big huge man totally wipe out backstage. It takes John about three minutes to hit the floor. It's like watching a Great Sequoia falling gracelessly."

Actually, the film version from the eighties was actually a remake of another film called, "Bedtime Story."

As for your question, I think that no one else could replace Butz (I didn't see the show, but I have the cast recording.)

Since it is total fantasy, why not just insist Butz play the role. Or maybe one Steve Martin.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

I usually don't do this, but...

Dane Cook could do it.

Jack Black

So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space

Brad Oscar was offered the part of Franz but had to turn it down because he was signed on to play Max on Broadway. I'm a huge Brad Oscar fan, but I think the producers may have made a smart move by getting another name like Will Ferrell.

on the line of dane cook...

stephen lynch, I think he'd do a much better job. He's really funny and can sing well too.

Also, I agree with Jack Black more than anyone, he has that craziness about him that would make it work well, and he can also sing.
