Posted: 2/21/05 at 4:22pmAnyone have any idea if DRS is going to get a window card? I can't recall a recent show, with this much buzz yet, that hasn't had one issued.

Posted: 2/22/05 at 11:41amWell, I've noticed that other shows in previews had cards before opening night. DRS also already has shirts, bags - even a magnet. I just hope they release a window card too. I collect them for each show I see.

Posted: 2/22/05 at 11:46amIt is the 14x22 cardboard poster that most shows sell. Has the show logo, credits, theatre, etc.

I'm glad you brought up the subject of window cards. I love to collect them. I have almost every musical since 1983 except the following:
Amen Corner
Doonesbury
The News
Into the Light
Late Night Comic
Starmites
Anna Karinina
Chu Chem
Welcome to the Club
Does anyone have any of these to sell? I've tried Triton but they only have them as photo reproductions for $125.00
Thanks

My theory on the DRS poster was that they already had the items like the t-shirt and magnet from the run in California but needed to get the window cards reissued with the Broadway theater information because they all say at the bottom all the information of the theater and the cast, etc.
Not sure if it's right but that's what I'm thinking.

Posted: 2/23/05 at 4:31pmCorrection - Not every show gets a window card. If we are talking musicals, I would 99% of them get window cards. From someone who works in an office dealing strictly with plays, two of our most recent productions have not had window cards mainly due to cost. Plays rarely recoup nowadays so many producers cut costs by not producing things such as window cards.

Posted: 2/23/05 at 10:14pmI talked to Triton Gallery today and they told me that the producers printed up a bunch and gave them away around town to shops and restaurants and ran out. New ones will be printed after the show opens but the window card will have critic's quotes on it. The guy I spoke to said that is what they are being told.

Posted: 2/24/05 at 7:54pmI was at DRS last night and there was a guy who had a window card that he was getting autographed by the cast. So some were made, I have no idea how many or what. And stupid question, but you have to buy them right? I mean, you dont find them somewhere for free, do you?
