Kids Night on Broadway is now done twice a year. It's a night where a bunch of shows offer free tickets to kids with every full price adult ticket that is purchased (so essentially the tickets are half price). It was started back in the late 90's by Giuliani and really took off, and they now do it twice a year. There's also a pre-show concert type thing somewhere, and a bunch of other events. Area restaurants and parking garages have gotten involved as well, offering special discounts. At the show, kids get a special Playbill detailing some of the behind the scenes stuff that goes into the performance they're about to watch. There's also a very helpful section on theater etiquette that their parents ought to read. It used to be that a 7 PM curtain for this event was "special", but now on Tuesdays, that's the norm. It's a great program, and a great way to introduce kids to the theater.

Two Questions:
1) Why is the Woman in White curtain at 8pm?
2) What kind of things go on during the preshow events?

I believe the concert is at Macy's. Thats where it was last year.
Some curtains are at 8pm for some reason. I dont know why, maybe due to material, not sure. They give warning of material not suitable for kids, but they still do discounts for Avenue Q.

At the concert- they have the representatives from the show they've choosen as the year's host show, the last year I went it was Little Women, and Sutton and Maureen performed, and they have like all kind of fun Bway activies and meet and greets with actors. I didnt go, but on the website it says it.

It is frightening! They should just have Jolene shoot the darn thing off in "Oklahoma!" - it looks like road-kill anyway, LOL!
Or they can write new lyrics-
"It's got a racetrack and a zoo, and better wig shops TOO!"

It looks like the pre-show event is @ Madame Tussauds.
