Why is this thread being brought back after three years? Rav, I was thinking the same.

Aladdin: Not FutureAladdinOnB'WAY
THe Tarzan one also made me laugh.
Aladdin would've been a much better choice for a stage adaptation than Tarzan and The Little Mermaid, IMO.

Question for Future Aladdin: What are you going to do after you play Aladdin? Because, to paraphrase Tennessee Williams: "The future becomes the present, which becomes the past, which becomes regret..."

I'd be more curious to see the original version of Aladdin that Menken & Ashman wrote adapted to the stage. The song placement as well as the tunes themselves are far more appropriate for a stage than the final film products IMO.
Amen!
Of course, Disney would NEVER do that though..
Sad but true.
I'm sure they could do the set, but I'm not a big fan of shows that suck without big effect that cost a billion dollars. I prefer good shows that can use effects but also be done at Joe Schmoe Community Theatre with some inventive staging. And I think Disney will most likely produce the first. It's not a bad idea for a stage show, probably better with the original drafts. I'm all for more stage shows with Asheman's work (Rosewater anyone?).I'd just rather someone OTHER than Disney would do it, which, is, of course, impossible. (Cue R&H song).

And then you'll have to change your screen name.

Egad, it's the night of the living thread.
In this and the other Aladdin casting thread, it's almost all white people, with the occasional Asiatic person. How odd. As I recall, the story is set in the middle east. Now, as to casting, if Oded Fehr can sing, he'd be a nice n' spooky Jafar.

Lea Salonga should definately play Jasmine if it was every on Broadway. Did you see the Aladdin performance at the 1992 Oscars? The staging was amazing.
