Posted: 2/22/06 at 11:32pmIt seems to me that when Fredi Walker was frequenting this forum last year, she was asked this question about the OBCR for Rent and she said that yes, they did get some small amount of residuals.

Posted: 2/22/06 at 11:40pmYeah, but RENT may be a little different, because I believe the OBC each were given 1% of the profits of the show and I guess all of its additional components including the recording.

Posted: 2/23/06 at 12:16amwhy just for RENT? It would seem hard to keep up to with all the OBCs of every recording because some are such large casts. its sorta interesting though, that 50 years down the line, someone might get a check for some show they recorded.

because, like I said, the OBC members of RENT each "own" 1% of the show. I don't think that's a typical outcome for most other shows.
