I've tried for rush several times, and didn't get it because there's always been a lot of people in line (only 20 rush tix per show), even when I went way early. But I went by Wednesday at around 12 to try for the matinee and there was NO ONE in line, so I just went right up to the window and got my ticket. I'm sure Saturdays are more crowded, but I guess it's just luck of the draw. Just a heads up: my rush seat wasn't that great. I couldn't see the top half of the set. Not a BIG deal, but lots of times I heard people way before I could see them, and you do miss alot of the flying... But it IS rush, so it's still a good deal, I guess.
I have have the same question, I'm going this Saturday to hopefully see Tarzan maitnee for student rush. I would like to be there when the box office opens or maybe close to 11ish, you think this Saturday will be crowded too since its not a holiday weekend now?

Two other posters and I got student rush for a Sunday matinee. We showed up at about 12:10 because our previous plans had fallen through and got the last 3 tickets for the 1pm show. A few minutes before the show started, the ushers moved us from the far back corner of row X into row J, center orchestra. We went from the crappiest seats in the house to the best and still only spent $20.
It might have been a total fluke, but this was the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Oh wow! So maybe I should get there at an early time for a Saturday evening show? Then I should get there when the box office opens.
Sorry orangeskittles you had such a crappy time

When I go I usually get there at about 10:30 for a matinee, and around 4:00 for the evining. They give out different seats differnt times. I have been front row, center, last row. I am not sure how or when they decide the seats, but the seats are always changing.
