There is no question that Tonys effect ticket sales

I mean just the PERFORMANCES at the tonys sell tickets I am not even going to go into the trophy's significance it is immense
When someone blunders, we say that he makes a misstep. Is it then not clear that all the ills of mankind, all the tragic misfortunes that fill our history books, all the political blunders, all the failures of the great leaders have arisen merely from a lack of skill in dancing. - Moliere

What a coincidence...I was just reading "Making It On Broadway" and the excerpts about winning a Tony as an artist means absolutely nothing..I'll give you guys some of the comments if you want.

This reminds me; I was shocked when I had heard that Wilson Jermaine Herredia of Rent (Tony Winner) was dropped from his agents. I had thought that winning a Tony would at least guarantee one solid representation. So many political factors seem to be involved.

The world wouldn't revolve anymore if there weren't the Tony Awards.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
