The show is going until July. I don't remember hearing about an extension after March, but Kelli said it's going until July.

A bunch of cast members have posted about the July extension on their websites (I believe Patti Cohenour was one--Jkor can confirm that one), but it hasn't been announced anywhere else yet. I assume that if the cast says it's happening, it's happening, but I never feel comfortable until I see it in print on Playbill.

I heard from Michael Beresse almost a month ago that the producers had told the cast about the July extension. I don't know why there hasn't been an official announcement. Does anyone know if they're actually selling tickets for that time?

Yes, extended to July but not yet announced to the public and tickets not yet on sale for this latest extension.

I had pretty much heard that the plan was to continue extending in 3 month intervals until the show cant run any longer (either because LCT is opening a new show or tickets stop selling or whatever the reason may be)

I believe Tom Stoppard's The Coast of Utopia is due at the Beaumont sometime in the Fall of 2006 for Lincoln Center.

If Piazza continues to sell, they'd move the Stoppard to another house - like Seascapes at the Booth. Whether or not this will be the final extension is much too early to tell.

yes they could, but it would have to be worth it to them to be paying the rent at that other theater, so Piazza would have to be selling well for the math to make sense.

Precisely. An undertaking like Stoppard's CoU which I believe is a trilogy being presented in repertory is best done in their own house. Particularly as a limited run. And if it was already "promised" then that's contractual as well. Though, I'll admit, I wish it won't be at the expense of losing Piazza.
