Does Mary Ad Lib at end of Xanadu?

I love Mary's line towards the end of Xanadu when Melpomene comments on how short their show is in length. I've heard her say, (or something like)
1.)"Across the street at Les Mis, they've just started to put the baracade up!"
2.) "Over at Spring Awakening, those kids haven't even gotten to second base yet!"
3.) "Next door at Gypsy, Patti Lupone hasn't even ostracized her first child yet!"
Does anyone know if she improvises or if it is scripted for her? As funny as she is, I bet it comes from her. What other show references have you all heard her say?
"The price of love is loss, but still we pay; We love anyway."

They probably started out as ad-libs and stuck. I know Jackie is a pro at ad-libbing from her days at Hairspray... I'm sure Mary is just as good!

Whatever they are, they're consistent. It was the Les Mis one until that closed, then SA until Gypsy started, and now Gypsy.

The one time we can remember it as probably being an ad-lib (or maybe worked it out before hand) was the first day of the strike, and it was something like "Tragedy? With the writer's strike, and the stage hands strike..."

And that's basically all we can remember. But it was funny at the time!

I can totally hear a Harry Potter comment coming out of Mary's mouth.
"All our dreams can come true -- if we have the courage to pursue them." -- Walt Disney We must have different Gods. My God said "do to others what you would have them do to you". Your God seems to have said "My Way or the Highway".

With Clay Aiken in Spamalot, all of Broadway is singing a collective "There! Right! There!" -Me-
