Does anyone know if the Lestat opening show will be the matinee or evening?

Do shows typically open with an evening performance? I got tickets for the Pajama Game for the matinee on March 11th and wanted to get the first performance of Lestat that evening. Will the evening show technically be the first or second performance? Any chance that Sir Elton might attend? Thanks..

March 11th is not the opening -- it's the first preview. Opening night isn't until April 13th.
