NO, I think that because some of the elder members of BWW are "nitpicky", the younger ones feel that to fit in they must also be "nitpicky"...
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in between ,and you're back again only different than before...

I wouldnt put as many title songs in there, like maybe do I have confidance instead of the sound of music for your sound of music song. But whatever you do, please leave the pahntom of the opera as your opening song. Great choice :)

They have to be typical...its a powerpoint presentation on Broadway...I have to make sure that even the slackers in my Drama I class can recognize the songs.
I don't know, if it's a power point presentation, you might as well educate people on shows they don't know instead of drilling them on shows they DO know.
It's more on the process of getting a show on broadway writing, auditions etc...those are shows that im using for background music for the information.
you have a very generic song list above. Yes everyone should recognize all of those songs. It's a fine song list for that but you may want to start off with shows they know and move off typical shows and discuss problems wtih bringing shows to broadway. Add a section about flops or shows that were not as well received and add some modern flops. Talk abotu Carrie, Taboo, etc etc etc
"Judy Garland, Jimmy Dean, You tragedy Queen" ~ Taboo
"Watching a frat boy realize just what he put his d!ck in...ex's getting std's...schadenfruede" ~ Ave Q
"when dangers near, exploit their fear" ~ Reefer Madness the Musical
I would add some songs from newer shows such as hairspray and suessical, but that's just me. What about something from Miss saigon? I hope this helps! K

Well if you're presnting this, i'm assuming (from my HS experience) that more than half of them don't give a crap about broadway. Instead of playing songs they will probably hate and are boring to even most theatre fans, try some fresher, newer, edgier music so they'll be more interested. Try some HEDWIG, RENT, TABOO, HAIRSPRAY, etc.
