I was fortunate to attend a reading of "Dorian" this afternoon at the Ford Center. This production is the one conceived and directed by James Mellon. I was very, very impressed with what I saw. The show in its present form is extremely well rounded. I found it both gripping and engrossing with a nice balance of comedy and a memorable score.
The title character of Dorian was played by Max Von Essen (Alfred, Dance of the Vampires)and he was mesmerizing. He is an extremely talented performer and truly shone in this role.
I really hope this one makes it to Broadway.

It was really, really good - and I agree with Lilian on the hope that it makes it to Broadway!
