I really wanted to like this play but was totally bored, basically it's about a pair of siblings living in public housing with their mom (Chloe Sevigny) who is a drug addict. Various friends and gang members enter the apartment throughout the show in anticipation of a gang fight that is about to happen near Washington Square Park. The friends are all very cliched types of what you think people from the 1970s were like and at least two of them were just straight out playing John Travolta with the hair and the accents. There is also a subplot about the mom trying to bring a fraudulent lawsuit against the building for alleged lead paint poisoning. This play is a slow burn and nothing really interesting or insightful about race is ever explored. Halfway through I was wondering where the show was going and whether it would pick up. Yes there is nudity for those interested but extremely brief. The run time is 1:40 no intermission.
