Well...Dr. Dolittle is going to close because of low ticket sales...and I was going to see it when it came to Huntsville.
Poor..Tom Hewitt, he just can't seem to get a hit.

It really does not sound temporary to me.

My heart goes out to everyone involved in this production. Jobs aren't easy to come by in this industry these days, and these people were counting on this show for at least a year. Let's hope work comes their way soon.
I have a few friends in this show, so my thoughts are with them.

The `Dr.' won't be in Chicago until 2006

"Dr. Dolittle" won't be talking to any animals anytime soon. In Chicago, at least.
Broadway in Chicago announced Wednesday that the stand of the musical at the Cadillac Palace Theatre--originally slated for next week-- has been "postponed until August 2006." A spokesman insisted that the booking was not canceled and that subscribers would get ticket exchanges. Requests for subscriber refunds will be treated "on a case-by-case basis" by contacting Broadway in Chicago. Single ticket buyers can get a refund at the point of purchase.
The national tour of the Leslie Bricusse musical has been beset by problems since it opened in Pittsburgh this summer with Broadway in its sights.
