So wait, I don't understand... why is he still not using the Broadway cast? I understand it was cheaper to use other people back when the show had just ended; within a certain number of months after the show closes you have to pay those actors more. But wasn't it like 4 or 8 months or something like that? Now that the show closed over a year ago, why is Wildhorn still using the "alternate" cast?

Probably because he recorded it with this cast and paid them...It would be too expensive to re-record the vocals.
Wildhorn Black and Hampton have the right to do, with the score, what they want. I hear there are songs from the successful European productions as well as some from Bway. I've heard some excerpts on www.globalvisionrecords.com They sound great.. check it out!

Besides law, most of the original cast would never work for or with Wildhorn again.

This album was recorded during the run of the Broadway show, but due to legal "stuff" it can't be released until 2006.
Check out www.globalvisionrecords.com for sound clips. You can even post on the message board and hear responses from Frank himself and his right hand man/ musical director Jeremy Roberts.

its CRAP that the Broadway cast didn't record Dracula. ABSOLUTE CRAP and i don't blame ONE of them for not wanting to have anything to do with Frank again. its the creators' right to do whatever they want with it, true. But its a TOTAL slap in the face to the company who endured that hideous Broadway show on stage 8 shows a week.
frank also did something pretty crappy after the Broadway JH was recorded with David Hasslehoff...in an interview (a PUBLIC interview) he said he would rather have had the original cast on the recording. WELL MAYBE he would have and thats ok and i know many of YOU would have preferred the original cast and thats ok too..but he should NEVER have said that in an interview. that was just not nice and completely unprofessional. you couldn't have paid the original cast enough money to come back and do that show again. he is lucky the cast that WAS there agreed to the terms (which were NOT GOOD) they agreed to and it got done in the first place...thank GOD Linda has a new beau now and he is gorgeous and TALL and nice! ahahahaha!!!

And you understand the entire situation inside out and back to front? I thought not

Care to explain why you think it's so hideous? In detail preferably. That will impact on my judgement: as everything I see that's not thought-out or explained is little use to me

Oh, woo-hoo. Like you understand the ins-and-outs of every little thing that has occurred in Mr. Wildhorn's life.

Well, I don't particularly want to hear Ms. Errico screech her way through a cast album of this, so I'm pleased to hear someone else's take on it.
Although, I do think the B'way cast got screwed royally.
the projected release date is early march but that is unofficial.
OK i liked the songs in the show alright... but I really hate those clips. It sounds way more pop-ish and is just not the same. If they had recorded in at least the style of the show I probably would have bought it but this studio recording just doesn't sound good to me (I particularly don't like Rob Evans at all...Before the summer ends sounds like a corny power ballad. When Darren Ritchie sang it- it was one of the few touching moments in the show and was awesome.) I think I will pass on this one... plus they cut out A LOT of music!

as a matter of facts i do know the ins and outs about what i spoke about and speak from experience, not ignorance. do i know every detail of mr wildhorns life? NO..nor would i WANT to know every detail.
trust me...i wouldn't post anything so brutal if i REALLY didn't know what i was talking about.
so try not to be offended and i am sorry if you are. it is what it is. believe what you want. its up to you.
as far as the show being hideous...i thought it was an embarrassment to the people ON stage as well as those watching it. can i give details? there isn't enough room in this space for me to go into details. it was just BAD. the people in the show were not proud but happy to be getting a pay check. they were not devastated when the show closed. every single one of them?...maybe not..but the majority.
