Posted: 6/14/04 at 11:48amIt has been reported that Hinton Battle is out of the production. Will this show be cast in time? Does anyone know the status on whether the show is mostly cast?

though Broadway.com also reported Bart was in the production and he's not...this show sounds like it has been cursed from the beginning.
Hmmm.

Posted: 6/14/04 at 2:23pmNot really. Broadway.com announced Roger Bart but the production never announced him. Though their scoops are correct nine times out of 10, the need to be first with the news got the better of them. It seems to me too, that with the casting of Hinton Battle, the production tried to do something a little unusual, but after a couple of weeks of rehearsal, perhaps it just wasn't working out. Who knows. "Cursed" though, seems a bit extreme.

"Cursed"?? Hardly. Hinton Battle has been the only tidbit of semi-negative press, but it says it was a "mutual agreement" between Battle and producers. No mention of storming out or hissy fits.
Taboo was cursed. Dracula....not so far.
