This scandal just gets juicier and juicier.

Now the Drama Desk president has banned members who dared to question his actions.

Gold Derby is following this closely.

Let's face it, what theatre queen doesn't love a great slice of some juicy backstage drama?

However, this stuff going on with the Drama Desk administration is not something I would call juicy. Not at all. I would call it disturbing. The only information we know is what has been written by Tom O'Neill at the LA Times - and Mr. O'Neill is a person who can find rocks and squeeze juice out of them, so he is somewhat untrustworthy.

I don't think anyone can make judgements based solely on what we've read in those two articles. We just don't know the facts and what's true or untrue. The only thing we can do is wait and see how things fall apart.

The situation is just disturbing and disgusting.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
