I got to play three of mine:
Hysterium in Forum
Jeffrey in Godspell
Young Thing in Hello Again
(and Brad Majors in Rocky Horror, though I consider him a lead)

Can I just ask what is so appealing about Elphaba's mother in Wicked?

I don't know... its a little part, but for some reason, it is appealing? i don't know.. weird yes. I mean, Glinda and Elphaba are my 2 DREAM roles. BUT i think that there is something charming about her.. haha.

Did she even say anything? I just remember a nasty green baby popping out of her suddenly. I was wondering how she became pregnant somehow.

My major dream role tha tisn't a principal is Lucy in Sweeney Todd. Oh my goodness, what I would give to play her!
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."

Yes, Elphaba's mother sings a lot in "No One Mourns The Wicked."

I second that Elphie!

The point of character's like Elphie's mother, is that she has that little thing and then gets to be in all of the INCREDIBLE chorus numbers. That is why i'd wanna be the mistress in evita, b/c the chorus stuff in that show is some of the best part to sing in the show, and then you have a lovely song. I'm sure you understand

I'd love to be a part of 42nd Street in any way because I love the show and I *LOVE* to tap!

I'm so talented that any role I play becomes a principal role. Many years ago I played Franz, the butler in THE SOUND OF MUCOUS and brought down the house with a single line: "Dinner is served". Luckily I'm humble enough to deal with my extraordinary gifts.

A chorus member in any big Broadway show with lots of dancing- especially tap (42nd Street, Millie....)

I'd love to play Chistery in "Wicked" because he does a lot of flying and acrobatic stuff. He lurks around some scenes without being focused on which is ALWAYS fun, and he plays a key role in the story.

Whenever we talk about the roles that we want to play, why does everyone want to play parts that are on Broadway right now? People, there are about 100 years worth of other really great roles besides the ones in Rent, Millie and Wicked. Let's expand our vision.

Good Point.
I'd also love to play that dreadful man in "My Fair Lady" at the embassy ball, Zoltan Karpathy- I love his lines and arrogant attitude- that would be terribly fun to play.
Schrank in West Side Story also has some great lines, too- I love that mologue of his in Doc's shop.

Hey, I brought up Sweeney!

Yes, Lights, you did. I guess I meant that more generally. It just seems that a lot of times on this board people seem to have very short memories. Or perhaps I am just too old. For instance, in a recent thread of "best shows ever" or something the list was full of Wickeds and Millies. And Lucy is a great role in Sweeney. I would love to play Pirelli, like I can even come close to hitting those notes...

I'd like to play Major Shinn in 'Music Man' someday. A long, long time from now, of course.

shermanslave, I just wanted to make myself clear. :) I know exactly where you're coming from. As much as I love Wicked and Millie and RENT, etc., I pride myself on enjoying old shows as well. Pirelli is such a great role, and I think anyone could hit those notes with a hot stick shoved up their butt... LoL

a Doo Wop Girl in Little Shop
Rose (Mary's Mother) in Secret Garden
"thats how i saved roosevelt" female voice in Assassins
