Posted: 12/31/06 at 2:32pmI was quite impressed that the only scene we have seen from "And I Am...." from the movie has been the back of Ms. Hudson, although the song is played in the trailers that scene is not used. This is so rare today that you did not see the whole movie in the trailer, which makes this scene more special. I understand she did not perform it last night at her concert in NY , but sang all the other Dreamgirls songs as well as ones she performed on American Idol. I appreciate that, but if I was at that concert thats the ONE I would want to hear. I can understand not singing it on TV Shows ect, but in a solo concert thats another thing. I read where she is not allowed to sing it in public at this time , any truth to that?

Posted: 12/31/06 at 2:34pmI have a feeling she isn't allowed somewhat like Nicole Kidman wasn't allowed to do the whole nose thing before bewitched came out, probably because they want ppl to see the movie and buy the soundtrack

Posted: 12/31/06 at 2:43pmThank God. It was the highlight of the movie for me. It was the only part of the movie I actually loved. Is there anyone else out there who was disappointed with the movie? Don't get me wrong, I didn't dislike the movie, I just felt like it was way over hyped and didn't live up to that hype.

I will step out to say that Jennifer's appearance was mis managed from A to Z. It was a spectacle of disaster. Jennifer sang beautifully. It ends there. The choreography, dancers, song selection, dress selection, sound, lighting. EVERYTHING was a lesson in how to go to Hell in a Handbasket.
Ms. Hudson needs to fire EVERYONE around her. If not, her fame will fall short in 14 more minutes.

i think it is the smartest move to not have Hudson sing AIATY live this soon. That should be reserved for a major public appearance, not a One night Only Concert Disaster at Hammerstein ballroom.
What may have been fun is to have her start it...
"And I am Telling You...I will not be singing this song tonight"...
I know the audience may have rioted, but I think it would have been hysterical.
