...how PHENOMAL it is? Because it is. With a fantastic score and such powerful lyrics, a decent book and a great cast... Wow. I was pretty much blown away. Thoughts?

Posted: 9/19/05 at 11:46pmI was thinking about getting "Drift" from Sh-k-Boom. Would yall recommend it? Wasn't sure since its just a concept album.

Posted: 9/19/05 at 11:57pmI really wanted to see this after I found out it was a part of the NYMF but I just didn't have time. I own the concept album from Sh-K-Boom and it too is amazing. I am glad you enjoyed it so much magic8ball. Can you tell me a little bit more about the show and how it was performed?

Posted: 9/20/05 at 12:16amAgreed. I REALLY enjoyed it. In fact, even being somewhat familiar with Jeremy Schoenfeld (I saw him in concert form a few months ago), I was still REALLY impressed. I found myself loving almost every song, which is thanks to the composer of course, and the amazing cast performing them. I loved the story as well. Such a unique idea for a musical, and it worked much better than I thought it would. Some of those men were really into it, there were times I felt that I shouldn't be watching, that's how well they sold it. Particularly the actor playing Mike, that was some intense stuff. I'd really like to see something happen with this show, it's really something that hasn't been done before, it explores an interesting topic with the perfect blend of truth, humor and emotion and the songs are simply amazing. Really glad I got to see this.

Posted: 9/20/05 at 5:51pmI agree, Jeremy's music is phenomenal. He also wrote music for the ATrainPlays -- also part of NYMF. Ryan Duncan, Ashlie Atkinson, and Kevin Townley (who will be playing a young Eddie Izzard in the next Ivan Retiman film) are all part of the show (which runs til Saturday night), but for my money the teo best in show are Natalie Douglas and Erica Ash. Phenoms!
