Posted: 8/9/14 at 10:44pmI'll be in the city this coming Wednesday, and I'm planning to get in line early for Gentleman's Guide. I don't care whether I end up with tickets to the matinee or evening performance, I'm just hoping to get tickets. For whichever time slot I'm free, afternoon or evening, I plan to try the Aladdin lottery. I want to have a backup option, in case I don't win at Aladdin. I'd like something that is likely to have rush tickets left, just a couple hours before show time. I know that Bullets and Rocky have not been near 100% capacity. Could they still have rush tickets left closer to show time? Are either of them worth seeing? Are there any better options?

Go to all the box offices you can and play dumb. Ask what tickets they have remaining/if any student tickets are available. Off Broadway will also be a bigger bet. I really recommend Here lies Love.

Both Bullets and Rocky are closing so I feel like it might be harder to get rush closer to the showtime
Newsies used to be my back up but they switched to Lotto for their final weeks.
The ones you can always, always get are Mamma Mia! And Chicago.
Phantom used to be easy until Sierra came in.
Once, Motown and Rock of Ages are fairly easy depends on the day.
If lucky, Les Mis have cancelled tickets closer to the showtime usually single seats (happened to me everytime I tried).
Off-Bway Avenue Q also have a bunch of rush tix left closer to the showtime.
Just like Les Mis, most shows are easier to get when you are looking for single tickets.

Ediit : and since you're there Wed Matinee, it's about three times easier for most shows mentioned above.

Posted: 8/10/14 at 12:29amI rushed Bullets after losing the Matilda lotto a couple days ago and had no trouble getting a ticket. My roommate did the same thing today and also got her ticket about two hours before show time.

Posted: 8/10/14 at 5:14amIf you lose Aladdin lotto you could also run up to 46th street and try the If/Then lottery. It draws at 90 minutes. They also usually have lotto loser tickets there for $40.
