You should get the "Maury Yeston Songbook" CD and the "John McDaniel Live @ Joe's Pub" CD - you'll hear her sing...!

JeffG - We (mouseinfo.com) have complete press credentials through Disney. These photos/videos were taken during press events for the media...we were set up in designated areas to film and publish the recordings or had permission prior to publishing them (an example of this would be our Aladdin clips)...so yes, they are legal.

Gypsy2 - That outfit was crazy! She did an amazing job with the part though. I still enjoy Steps in Time (before it was revamped) much better. It did not include the crazy outfits. Instead Eden was presented in elegant costumes. Updated On: 3/24/04 at 11:14 PM

Does anyone have her actually singing anything as tough as "Defying Gravity"? It sounds like she can sing ballads (which is more of a classical technique), but I can't find anything that sounds like she can belt. Even some of the ones posted, she sounds very tight when she tries to belt high, and it's flat (I hate as a voice teacher when professionals can't even stay on pitch!). Anyone know? I'm hoping that Idina will sing on 5/12, but if not, I hope Eden is up to the challenge (if it sounds like the mp3 of "Defying Gravity," I'll be requesting a full refund on my tickets).

No offense MusicPos, since it's evident you know what you are talking about...but in a lot of your recent posts you have said "(if it sounds like the mp3 of "Defying Gravity," I'll be requesting a full refund on my tickets)". IMO, this is a completely silly statement. 1) you've obviously missed quite a few posts reviewing Eden's insanely fantastic performance a few Sundays ago...2)you're still disregarding her talent because of one or two short recordings 3)nothing is guarenteed when you buy tickets for a show...it's live theatre, thats the point as I'm sure you know...so even mentioning that if Eden doesn't sound up to Idina's level you would ask for a refund seems a bit absurd to me anyway.

Like I said MusicPOS, Eden would be up to ANY challenge. I hope for your sake that she is filling in for Idina when you see the show. I'm sure your opinion of her will change once you experience her singing in person. Yes, she is great at singing a beautiful ballad, but trust me...she can truly belt like no other!
I tell you what...if you find out ahead of time that Eden is filling in on the date you have tickets for, let me know. I'll fly out to NY and I'll buy your ticket(s) at twice the face value, just so I can see her go on as Elphaba. Deal?
I can't get enough of her voice. Every time I saw her in "Brooklyn" I respected and admired her talent even more.

Like I said in response to one of your other posts, please do not judge her talent from mp3s that you have...

I don't trust reviews. I trust my own ears. I hope that if I hear her perform, I'll be pleasantly surprised (especially since I'm not particularly fond of Idina), but if they hired someone that sounds like that mp3, that's worse than trash, and people ask for their money back on occassion. I've seen many shows (many that were terrible) and never gone so far as to do that, and if anyone has a better sound clip, I'd be happy to hear it.
