Posted: 6/20/04 at 9:07pmI saw Eden perform yesterday and she was terrfic. Honestly, I have never seen a understudy give a performance as good or better than the orginal star. But, Eden was able to do that last night.

Posted: 6/20/04 at 9:23pmI have, Barret Foa was better than John Tartaglia (as hard as that is to believe). And btw, you're wrong about Standby vs. Understudy. You're right that the understudy is always in the show, but standbys can learn more parts. In fact, Eden has played Nessarose on several occasions. And people aren't upset b/c they don't think an understudy or a standby can be good it's because you're looking forward to seeing what they hype is about. It's not because people don't know, it's b/c they paid to see something specific. Now, I think they're wrong, and I would always give the understudy or standby a chance, but that's why they do it. People come from all over the country to see Idina and Kristin, when they're out that's dissappointing, no matter the merits of the people in. Even for people like me, I'm bring two people from out of town that are dying to see Wicked b/c of all I've told them. I'll be very disappointed if either is out b/c I want them to get the same experience other people talk about. I also want to see them together again b/c of their amazing chemistry. Not that Kristin won't have it with Eden or Laura with Idina, but it's not the same.

Posted: 6/21/04 at 9:19amYou're right - it's not the same. Kristin and Eden's chemistry far surpasses that of Kristin's and Idina's...anyone who's seen both teams can attest to that. Kristen practically loses it at the end of the show with Eden, and, as far as I know, never has with Idina.
