Eden cried, but she wasn't bawling. And I saw Shoshana Bean 8 times as Elphaba and not once did I ever see her cry. Well, except for maybe her final performance. But Eden literally had tears in her eyes when she didn't get her wings.

After seeing the show on Saturday in DC, Wicked is beginning to grow on me and I look forward to seeing Eden and Megan sometime soon.
Oh my god, thankyou so much for that fantastic review! I am also now absolutely green with envy from reading it and never spending money again until I've saved up enough to go over and see her again! Eden was my first Elphie and I swear I couldn't have asked for anyone better. All the songs you mentioned, I remember her ripping into them SO vividly. And she cracked me up in Popular, and What is This Feeling.

Funnily enough, last year, I thought idly how brilliant Eden and Hilty would be together - as much as I loved Kendra, I also adored Megan just as much. And now they *are* together...I call that cruel

Anyone in Manhattan got a floor I can sleep on? *g*

Much credit should be given to Megan as well. That girl can have incredible chemistry with a towel. She just has a fantastic personality. Wicked is lucky to have her.

This is exciting... I have never seen/heard Eden before... but she has a distinct following in the fans who have been around longer (yes, that is a generalization) and the words in this thread are encouraging to me! I hope I will have a chance to see her...

...and yes, for whoever asked about chemistry, Derrick and Eden are good buddies. They were both standbys back in the day, together, and having performed in California on the Tour together has rekindled and strengthened their acting as a pair. At least, I'm assuming that's true, about their strengthening, because they're both signed onto the Broadway production now. But yeah, they're very good friends, according to Derrick.

So true. Megan is terrific not only in this show, but as a person in general. I've talked to people who went to Carnegie Mellon with her, and she was always a sweetheart and fun to be around.

		     			OMG! Eden is amazing!

I watched her 11/17 and had to come back and watch her again tonight! I just had to hear her sing Defying Gravity again. Such a beautiful voice!

Eden is just an amazing performer.
She and the new cast where wonderful last night. Carol Kane was a revelation in a role Rue so terrribly underplayed. Derrick Williams makes a great Fiyero and Cristy Cates was fine as Nessa. Eden, however, was certainly a highlight. She can belt like nothing else and really owned the role. Wicked is in good hands for the next few months.
I have to say, I saw her and she was truly stunning. I have seen Idina, Shoshana, and Seycon. None of them pail in comparison to the connection I made with Eden's Elpheba. Go and SEE EDEN!!!!

I can proudly say I was an Eden fan before Wicked (haha jk i don;t want to get those avatars started.)
They update the cast changes on the website very timely, but it always takes them FOREVER to update the pictures. ugh.

PJ, she IS Elphaba for me. :)

Megan was magnificent as well. She had the audience at the palm of her hand. She's hilarious.

I love them both!

Saw the show again tonight. The audience was a little dead at first, but then they livened up.

-Eden is still sensational. No doubt about that.
-Megan is in fine shape, as well.
-George Hearn can definitely still sing. But he doesn't have the pizazz of Ben Vereen.

I won the Wicked lotto today! The audience was HORRIBLE. Megan got no entrance applauce, Eden got a delayed entrance applauce. She ran in then like in Dear Old Shiz they were clapping. No applause when Eden flew. But the new cast is amazing!

If you want an audience that's asleep in their seats, populated with children who don't get it and octogenarians who can't hear it, matinees are still your best bet. Sad that they are so unresponsive.... does it help to know why?

And the weirdest part was, much of the audience went crazy when Boq transormed into a familiar Oz character.
