Hollis Resnik was a HILARIOUS Mrs. Meers on tour. She should replace Delta.

I am already feeling the nostalgia! Sutton Foster is a favorite of mine. But while I'm sad to see her leaving Millie, I admire her continuity with seeking new shows. I just recently saw Sutton in Millie as well as Egan in Cabaret and found both of them to be fantastic performers, so I am anxious to see Egan in Millie.

I DO want to know: who is filling the void for Burke AND Davis?

Kevin Earley took over for Ben Davis as Graydon when Davis left on December 15th. He may not be too familiar around NYC, but he's made quite a name for himself in LA and on tour with Les Mis. I'm not sure who's replacing Delta Burke, though.

As I said...the Broadway.com article said they have not decided.

Thank you for the answer. I didn't pay notice to the article. My bad.

Harriet Harris won't come back to Millie because she's tied up with the sitcom.

I felt the same way about the show when Marc left. It lost its spark for me... or just a hot guy to stare at. Really, that was the main spark of Millie for me in the first place.

Honestly, I've seen Millie with Catherine Brunnell and she was every bit as good. This Sutton hype has taken on quite the offensive nature. There are PLENTY of talented young actresses out there with similar spark and charisma... sorry, Sutton is fabulous but she didn't break the mold when she was cast as Millie... she just broke into the business as a Broadway star. There are plenty of actresses out there today with HEALTHIER voices (you can just see the veins in her neck about to BURST when she sings Gimme, Gimme) and every bit as charismatic.

Plus, I've seen the show many, many times, and I think she's pretty much tired in the part. It's time to move on. It'll be good for her.

Susan is going to be quite the geriatric Millie, but she is so talented. She's going to put a spin on things... and give a more mature performance, which will be interesting to see. Susan was by far, in my opinion, the best Sally that ever hit Studio 54. Even to that role she brought so many different eliments to the character that previous and latter actresses (between her two stints in the part) couldn't have begun to approach. So, think of what a refreshing change she'll bring to Millie. It's time... Millie needs some freshening up to bring BACK the spark as far as I'm concerned.

I, for one, will be first in line to catch the show the minute Susan joins the cast.

As long as they cast someone who understands Meers and plays her funny, not straight, I don't care WHO they cast! (Big Burke fan as you can tell - NOT)

The show needs a major pick-me-up because even now, while Sutton is still in it, the show isn't what it was 6 months ago.

She doesn't play her funny?! See, that is why they need Hollis!

I think to give Meersy an EDGY FEEL Michael Musto should play Meersy.
He was fantastic last night. I would love to see him as Meersy.
Or Dame Edna as Meersy, or Charles Busch.
LOL.
Meersy could be a man. It would make it funnier.
Would Dick Scanlan go in for Meersy. Heard he acted in drag before and was hilarious. Updated On: 1/6/04 at 10:19 AM

Oh of course Sutton must be tired. Two years of Millie seven nights a week. Fhew. I agree with everything you've said daisy. Gimme Gimme IS a difficult song to sing in call voice. But I do hope Egan takes over. Her performance in Cabaret was phenomenal.

And I agree, Hollis would be fabulous. She isn't a complete character type like Burke, and her voice is remarkable. Hm. I suppose I could fill in for her on the tour?
