Posted: 8/26/05 at 3:37pmI worked with Stritch several years ago. Very few people realize that Shakespeare wrote "Taming of the Shrew" for her to play.

Grab the phone and dial quickly folks:
"On Sept. 10 the award-winning performer will offer a preview of her new show — At Home at the Carlyle — with a reduced cover price of $75. There will also be no minimum for that performance.
Stritch's engagement will officially open at the famed room Sept. 13 and will play through Oct. 29. She will be accompanied by a six-piece band headed by her musical director Rob Bowman. The Carlyle run will feature all-new material for the Tony-winning actress, who will also recount stories about her illustrious show-business career.
