Posted: 5/28/04 at 12:44pmWe're taping this while we move. We own the DVD of the show itself and it is incomparable. When I saw it live on Valentines day the year it played - it blew me away how amazing she is!

Posted: 5/28/04 at 12:52pmIf you have the DVD of the show you should know that this is different. Backstage interviews, archival footage and photos. I am under the impression this is more of a documentary with scenes from the show interspersed. It should be an invaluable compliment to the DVD. So don't write this off, even if you have seen the show.
re: Elaine Stritch at Liberty#3
Posted: 5/28/04 at 12:54pmExactly. The show on HBO is only 2 hours, At Liberty was nearly 3 hours long, so Suleen is spot on the money. It's a documentary with clips of At Liberty.

re: Elaine Stritch at Liberty#6
Posted: 5/28/04 at 1:52pmIt is by the same guys who did Company. There was a pretty funny articla on Playbill.com, not sure of the link though, where they talk about working with the great Stritch. I love the dvd, can't wait to see behind the scenes.

Posted: 5/28/04 at 2:42pmSueleen - yes - I knew that but was just mentioning that we already own the DVD - we're looking forward to all the little extras thrown in - I am a HUGE Stritch fan, now that I'm more familiar with her body of work.
