re: Elena Shaddow In London Showboat Too

None of the Claras are wigged--that's their real hair. I thought they were wigged initially, but I saw an article when Katie Clarke first started in the role, and it was her real hair.

And Vicki Clark is actually a redhead and wears a red wig in the show. You can debate on whether it's real or not, but she's most definitely not a brunette.

NYAgent - Oh WOW! Elena's playing CLARA??? I didn't catch that, thank you SO much for clearing that up!!!! (sarcasm)

Why does it matter if she auditioned for Franca, you ask? Why does anything on these message boards matter? Am I not allowed to ask questions? Chill out.

In your defense, spellbee, I totally see Elena as more of a Franca, even though she is a little young for it. I'm surprised they cast someone so dark for Clara. But she has the voice and is going to do an amazing job in the role.

I'm so excited for her. She was phenominal in Woman in White.

re: Elena Shaddow In London Showboat Too

other than the fact that she doesn't have a lilywhite complection (sp?), I really don't see her as more of a Franca than a Clara. Her voice is very bright and beautifully placed, which is perfect for Clara. And, aside from the complection, she has the perfect look for Clara. She is also in her 20's (and looks it) which is perfect for Clara. Above it all, she can REALLY act.

I can't wait for the rest of the cast!
