Posted: 1/31/09 at 5:56amI had not realized that Clive Barnes died in 2008. Although he was at the NY Post for many years, he succeeded Walter Kerr as drama critic for the NY Times where he had a somewhat contentious tenure. I had a friend who worked at the Times who told me that Barnes was sometimes asleep at his desk(nursing a hangover?) In my opinion, the 2nd rate NY Post deserved him. I hope that Ms. Vincentelli raises the level of theatre criticism for the Post.
