She's in a movie thats on the Hallmark channel right now (Friday night 9-11). Its called Mystery Woman: Sing me a murder. I love her. She's been on for two minutes and is BRILLIANT.
I'm so jealous! I love Ellen (hence my avatar) and am gutted to not get a chance to see it, I can only hope they show it here in the UK.
What was it all about and who did Ellen play?

F*CK you...
Who are you
Where's your tony nomination at 22?
Where's your starring role in a major movie musical?
Where's your Broadway debut in a starring role at 19?
SHE WAS AUDREY...one of the best female characters in a musical ever...Howard Ashman gave her credit for completely making the character into what it was.
These message board shouldn't be for trashing performers...having said that find something better to do...and get some taste.
PS Buy her new CD at ellengreene.com. Its GORGEOUS!
whoa, calm down there! People can have different opinions. Maybe hate was a strong word, but I don't enjoy Ellen's voice either. Her breathy lisp is just annoying to me. Doesn't mean I think she should never work again or that other people can't enjoy her, but just because we don't have a Tony or created a leading role means we can't form our own opinions? come on...

If your name is "Stephanie the star" you should be able to live up to that claim...which I highly doubt she can. Also, why do people need to bash other performers publicly? Especially with no rhyme or reason. You can enjoy a performer or dislike them, but I think you should step back and look at where you are before you criticize some one so harshly. If your name was Liza Minnelli or even Kerry Butler I would like to hear your opinions on some one like Ellen. When your name is Stephanie the star on a message board you can have an opinion...but you don't gotta be so rude about it.
And buy Ellen's new CD at ellengreene.com She is a rockstar. And although the breathy-ness (the lisp was a character choice) is there at times she also belts her face off. Or, get the Weird Romance CD. Her work on that is stunning...honest, beautiful, and no breathy lisp.

Hate is far too strong of a word, but I'm not a fan of Ms Greene's Audrey either.
And really, parker, take a deep breath. Stephanie voiced her opinion, as you did. No need to flip out on someone with a different opinion.
Personally I think she has a wonderful voice and she is also a very inspiring actress. But then again I think most of the people and stuff that gets talked about on this board is bollocks, but I just keep quiet, because as my mother always told me, if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all...
I just ask you respect that I am a fan as is Parker and to not make us feel bad for being so. We are entitled to our opinion as is everyone else. Don't take the piss out of us or insult us for being a fan just because you don't like her.
Parker: I don't think I can get the Cd, i'm not sure it posts to the UK but i've listened to the clips and I have to say that Rainbow Sleeves is beautiful. everytime I hear her sing Somewhere that's green, i'm moved, usually to tears, simply because she just puts everything in her, into her singing, every emotion and she is so open and almost delicate and fragile, she puts herself on the line with the singing. I just wish I could get the CD!
I, however, would like to know why Stephanie is a self proclaimed star?

I don't care if I don't have a tony award..YET...SHE IS horrible...sorry but its true Thats my opinion...deal with it.
She screams...and not even on pitch...and she can't act..and she's unattractive..what is there to like??
BTW why do i need to back up my name? I'm studying Musical theatre and I hope to become a star one day..I never said YOU should know who I am.
I'm a star...because i am..it's my little ego boost!
I didn't make fun of your name...don't make fun of mine.

Ellen can't act...What community college acting school are you at? SHE'S A BRILLIANT BRILLIANT BRILLIANT actress. She's flawless in Little Shop...and you know she's a good actress because she screwed over the role for every one else. Every one either gets compared to her and criticized for doing an impression or (as was the case with this revival) people left the theater wishing that girl playing audrey was a little more like the lady in the movie. Thats one reason why you know she's a good actress. She completely made a mark on a role that can't be shaken.
Sheesh
And there's a lot to like. She's a PHENOMINAL interpretter (spelling?) of song. She can break your heart, make you laugh, and make you feel...very few performers today can do that. If all you've seen is Little Shop go see her show when its in town. Or buy her new CD...very little screaming, most of it is in head voice. But go see her, she's brilliant and an amazing actress. Watching her perform is like taking a master class...you learn so much from her. She's completely 100% real, honest, and open with every note that comes out of her. And on pitch or not, thats one fierce voice she has.
#1 I'm not at a community college..and this post isn't about MY talent so you need to quit with that
#2 we all have our own opinions...you like her- i don't...lets leave it at that.
I respect your opinion..let's not argue anymore..it's really very pointless and stupid

I love Ellen Greene. Before I say this, I have to let you know that I don't think her voice is the best I've ever heard, but I don't find it to be terrible in the least. I saw her perform at Standing Ovations 2. When she sang "Somewhere That's Green", it just killed me. The amount of passion and heart she put into it was just unbelieveable. At the end of the song, there was a single tear running down her cheek. She must have performed that song a million times before, but it was just as true and real as the first. She is truly one of the most brilliant performers I will have the pleasure to watch.
By complete random chance I was working out next to Ellen Greene last week...it was funny even though I don't really care for her as a performer

Sorry "Stephaniethestar" You're childish rude comments have made me quite mad I wont drop this. It is pathetic know it all children like you with out one real credit to back it up who always seem to be tearing down established actors on this board. You can have an opinion but to be so insulting down to somebodys looks is childish and trashy. Karma is a bitch and speaking from lots of experience in casting and producing a girl with a nasty attitude like yours will not get hired. People as a rule don't want to work with self proclaimed stars.....

I worked with Ellen in a produciton of OLIVER and she was stunning. Audiences loved her. She has a vulnerability that is hard to match. I understand that she might not be everyone's bag, but who is? She is a very skilled actress and singer and a sweetheart. Kind and gentle, and the children in the show loved her! She has not had an easy life and I applaud her courage. She is happy now and I am thrilled for her. Watch and listen to her with an open mind, and whether she is your favorite or not, you should be able to respect her considerable talents.
I'm IMMATURE?? you're the one that won't drop it...you're the childish one I said I wanted to drop it and that I RESPECT YOUR OPINION.
GET A F*CKING LIFE!
