Interesting tidbit:

On Friday's Halloween episode of Ellen, the set was inspired from LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS and used three of puppets built for the short-lived 2003 Broadway revival. Since the revival, the puppets have been available to rent for regional productions but are rarely used due to cost. (There are cheaper Audrey II plants you can rent, or productions build their own.)

It was a nice surprise to see those again.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
