"Encores" & Non-Eq?

They're holding auditions this week for their upcoming season, and I was wondering if any of you had any insight into their auditions. Have they ever hired a Non-Eq actor to be in the ensemble before? I know they employ a group of ensemble "singers" usually, that just enter and exit for certain songs. Any ideas? I'm wondering if it is even worth the wait to try and get seen. Thanks!

yes they do! depends more-so on the creative team with any show really but if they want you and you are right for the part it wont matter. you can join equity through city center. they've hired non-eq principles b4! you might even have the choice to not join the union when you get hired there i think b/c the runs are so short...good luck!!!!

I have never attended Encores auditions myself but i would imagine that since equity rules are in effect so i would assume that they would have a non-equity list
Its worth a shot going and seeing what happens :) its a great season coming up!
